Mayor Tom Stinebaugh couldn’t get over the change.
“The last time I saw this it was a mess,” he said, checking out the refurbished golf cart. “This is amazing.”
The city is the new owner of a street-legal, red and white themed golf cart, being put into service to help keep the city blooming.
Wapakoneta’s “tourism dollars” were used to purchase and refurbish the vehicle, which will be used by the Roots and Shoots Garden Club to water the downtown hanging baskets and flower-filled urns.
The club met Tuesday at Yocum-Rudd Park to check out the new cart and meet Joe and Kim Patterson of Auglaize Auto Body, the local company that completed the transformation.
