In less than 24 minutes, two Wapakoneta boards, in two separate meetings, authorized changes that will facilitate progress within the city.
The Board of Zoning Appeals Monday authorized a change of use for the former Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall on Plum Street. Dr. Scott Fleck requested the change in order to move his optometry practice from downtown to the west side of the community.
Fleck is an optometrist with a practice at 5 E. Auglaize St. He said many of his patients are elderly and finding a parking place downtown within easy walking distance to his office is becoming increasingly difficult. He said he’s been looking for a different location for some time; the timing seemed right with the availability of this building.
