While the city’s Tourism Committee was unable to meet Monday, due to a lack of quorum, Wapakoneta City Council members continued their bid to use some of that group’s budget to help clean up the city.
Citywide cleanup is a continuing theme throughout Wapakoneta, at least in some quarters, and Councilor Jim Neumeier repeated his idea that tourism committee dollars should be used by the city to promote itself.
Neumeier – who first voiced the idea during last week’s Streets and Alleys Committee meeting -- said the 2019 celebration of native son Neil Armstrong’s historic first steps on the moon will put the city in an international spotlight.
