The following is a statement from the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office:

An accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 33 and Kettlersville Road claimed the life of a St. Marys teenager.

Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Monday at 3:05 p.m.

A 1998 Oldsmobile driven by Heaven Leigh Bolinger, 18, was southbound on Kettlersville Road and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 33. A 2015 Nissan SUV, driven by Charles C. Estle, 24, of Mendon, was westbound on U.S. 33. The Nissan struck the driver's side of the Oldsmobile in the intersection; the Oldsmobile came to rest in the median while the SUV came to rest on the westbound berm on U.S. 33. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Estle was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital.

Members of the Buckland Fire Department extricated Bolinger from the vehicle; she was pronounced dead at the scene by the Auglaize County Coroner's office.

Also assisting at the scene were the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office, Wapakoneta Fire Department and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
