There will be a little bit of Vegas in the Junior Fair Building at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds on Saturday, as the Wapakoneta Rotary Club transforms the building for their second annual Casino Night fundraiser.
Building off of a successful Casino Night last year, the event will again serve to raise money for several community projects and high school scholarships.
"The money goes right back into the community," Rotary president Keith Horner said, "and we currently have three big local commitments."
Rotarians have pledged money to several ongoing local projects, including $25,000 to the FFA Livestock Building, $50,000 over five years to the YMCA's ongoing capital campaign for their expansion, and $25,000 to the Auglaize County Public Library for the Wapakoneta branch's current renovation.
But, as Horner says, that's what the Rotary is for.
"It's what Rotary does everywhere, locally and beyond," he said. "We're very appreciative to have the community's support."
But, attendees at Saturday night's fundraiser won't be walking away with nothing, either, with plenty of entertainment lined up, prizes up for grabs, and locally crafted food and drink.
For the price of a $25 ticket, each person will receive 50 casino chips, five door prize tickets, and two drink tickets.
