Driver seriously injured in two-vehicle crash

Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a serious injury. The crash occurred on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at approximately 12:45 P.M. on state Route 66 near state Route 219 in Auglaize County.

A Ford Focus, one of the vehicles involved in the collision, was being operated by Hunter Smith, age 19, of Houston, Ohio, who was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and then flown to St. Rita’s Medical Center, where she remains in ICU in critical condition. The other vehicle involved in the collision was a Kenworth tractor and trailer, driven by Ernest Raber, 68, of Clyde, Ohio.

Agencies assisting at the scene included St. Marys Township Fire Department and St. Marys EMS.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
